15,839. Parsons, R. B. July 16. Spring wheels; tyres, elastic other than pneumatic. -Wheels are made with two rims, the inner corrugated rim b being rigidly fixed to the spokes and of considerably less diameter than the outer rim, which is flat and flexible. Between the rims are a series of steel or other springs d guided by radial spindles c, which are rigidly attached to the outer rim, the rim being strengthened by collars e<1> at the points of attachment. The spindles work through apertures in the inner rim and through collars e<2>. The series of springs are preferably pitched midway between adjacent spokes. Any suitable tyre may be fixed to the outer rim by screws f or otherwise.
