Abstract
14,515. Longsdon, H. C., and Walker, W. June 28. Washing-machines; mangling and wringing machines.-Wringing or mangling machines fixed to the receptacle of a washing-machine may be placed inside the latter when not in use, and the whole converted into a table or similar article of furniture. The wringer, supported by the uprights c, is hinged at e to the side of the receptacle, being held, when in use, by catch-hooks and further supported by the board f, which rests on the edges of the tub a and may be removed or slid along when the wringer is turned down into the tub. The handle of the wheel g is hinged so that it may be turned down against it and so occupy less space. The oscillatory washing-device h is detachably fixed on bearings on the sides of the tub, and the handle h<3> can be removed and placed inside the tub, as shown in Fig. 3. An ordinary fixed or removable washing-board k, a sliding shelf s, and a drawer p, together with the cover m, complete the device.
