June 16 Motor road vehicles.-In a driving-gear for a motor vehicle which also acts as a differential gear, power is transmitted from equal pulleys on the driving-shaft f through belt gearing to the drums c, c<1> on the road wheels, which are loose on the axle b. When the vehicle turns, the inner wheel has a tendency to slide, which increases the resistance and causes the belt to slip on the driving- pulley. In a modified form, the road wheels are fixed to the axle b which is made in two portions engaging one another but having separate motion, and the driving-belts, which may be trapezoidal in section, are placed on pulleys at the centre of the shafts.
