Ironing-machines.-A finger-guard e fixed to the frame of the machine has a flat piece e' attached, which extends close up to the roller, and near enough to the table of the machine (in the type shown) to prevent the fingers of the operator from passing beneath it. On the front of the guard is loosely mounted a warning-plate f, which lifts when the fingers press against it, indicating the proximity of the hand to the roller. The invention is illustrated as applied to a machine of the single roller and table type, but is stated also to be applicable to other machines.
