16,386. Croxon, W. C. July 25. Mangling and wring- ing machines.-A guard for mangling and wringing machines comprises a roller B rotatably mounted in bearings in metal frames A which are suspended from a metal rod G fixed to the standards of the machine. Normally, the roller B is held against the upper roller of the machine by light springs E, and assists in feeding the articles between the machine rollers. If the operator's fingers are caught between the upper and the guard rollers, the guard-roller and the frames may easily be pulled away from the machine against the pull of the springs. A bar holds the frames together by nuts H. According to the Provisional Specification, the metal spindles of the guardroller work in slots in metal frames, allowing a sliding movement against the action of the springs.
