The upper edge of the can 1 is bent to the shape shown, and a cover 5 is fitted over it, washers 9, 10 being inserted between them. With this construction there are five lines of closure, viz., at 11, 12, 13, and at the inner face and bottom of the washer 9. The top of the cover and the can may be made square instead of round.
