Abstract
24,301. Bloxam, A. G., [Sulzer, G.]. Nov. 9. Lubricators; bearings for pumps. Relates to improvements in the bearings for rotary pumps described in Specification No. 3076, A.D. 1903. A pressure-reducing space b, Fig. 1, is placed between the pressure chamber a and the bearing to reduce the water pressure on the bearing. The piston c rotates loosely in the partition between the space b and the chamber a, and allows water to leak through into the space b, along the channel f, and into the space e. The bearing d, and the oil in the chamber h, is cooled, and the water passes out through the channel i. An opening k is provided for access to the bearing. The lubricant is carried up to the journal by the rings g.
