Stoppers. - A split metal tube 12, Fig. 2, fits tightly into a stopper 11, its outer or projecting part being covered by a layer of porous material such as felt 13, pressed tightly by the tube against the inside wall of the stopper, so as to allow of the gradual escape of mucilage or other liquid from the bottle, when inverted. The inner end of the tube opens into the bottle, as shown, being closed by a cork 16, if necessary, to prevent loss of liquid during carriage. A cap 15 fits airtight over the stopper when the bottle is not in use.
