A chamber b formed in the cap has its lower surface inclined towards holes g, which communicate with the shaft. The rings throw off the oil upon the inclined surface. A piece k, shaped as shown, is provided to distribute the oil evenly upon the bottom of the chamber b. Transparent sides l are provided to view the level of the lubricant. The rings may be provided with holes, teeth, pegs, or other projections to throw off the lubricant. Two chambers b may be provided.
