Stoppers.-A bayonet-joint stopper, for bottles, jars, and other vessels, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, consists of a sheet-metal cap h, which is provided with internal projections g to engage under locking-lugs e<1>, e', formed on the neck of the bottle. The lugs are formed helically on the underside, to give the tightening action. A sealing-washer m is fixed in the cap, the crown n of which is dented, thereby forming a plug-like centre m<1> which is forced on to the conical mouth of the bottle. An enlargement or collar j, below the lugs e<1>, e<2>, forms a bearing or support for the lower end of the cap. Below this, a conoidal shoulder or abutment k is provided as a seat for the nozzle cap of the filliogmachine. The outer edge of the crown of the cap is provided with projections or studs to facilitate gripping when applying or removing the stopper.
