10,184. Mills, B. J. B., [Tachon, Joatton, & Co.]. May 5. Incandescent gas burners. -In a mixing-apparatus for incandescent g a s burners, an injecting- nozzle a, having an orifice o, screws on to the ordinary burner supports. The nozzle has an external thread g to receive a second piece b. This piece has air orifices h below the level of the orifice o, and at its upper part is a screwed sleeve provided with slots j, which reach down to the level of the orifice o. A third piece c screws over the sleeve, so that the quantity of air admitted through the slots may be regulated or entirely cut off. The upper end of the piece c is in the shape of an inverted funnel, and screws into a tube d, which conducts the mixture to the burner. Under ordinary circumstances, sufficient air enters through the orifices h, but, if the pressure of the gas is too low to draw in the requisite quantity, additional air openings may be provided by unscrewing the piece e.
