Abstract

24,007. Jacquinet, L. Nov. 14. Incandescent gas burners.- The gas is injected from the nozzle I into the mixing- tube, which is shaped as shown at C, C', C', D, D', and adjustablymountedupon the nozzle I by a lock-nut or its equivalent to permit of the air supply being varied. The mixture of gas and air impinges upon the lower cone of the spreader E, and the end of the cone is truncated to render accurate adjustment unnecessary. The steadiness of the flame elongated by the cone F may be improved by adjusting the chimney holder H upon the mixing-tube of the burner. A pilot jet may be supplied by a pipe g entering the gas fitting beneath a chamber S containing a valve which only opens when the gas is at full pressure. The cylindrical part C' of the mixing-tube may be shortened or dispensed with, the cones D, E being prolonged downwards to a corresponding extent.
