5196. Easton & Co., and Bj÷rnstad, J. March 5. Superheaters, steam.-Fig. 1 is a section of an arrangement for cutting off, when required, the flue in which the superheater is placed. Suspended by chains from a pulley F are two fireclay plates or dampers D, D<2>, which, in the positions shown in full lines, act in conjunction with a fixed wall C, to cut off the compartment B from the boiler flue A, the gases passing directly to the return flue G. In the positions shown in broken lines, however, the gases pass through the compartment B.
