5192. Harrison, G., [Maheu, V.]. March 5. Rollers and roller heads.-The rollers A, B, C are cleaned by means of a double conical roller D, which rests upon them and is automatically traversed from side to side of the machine. The roller is hollow, and contains a loose rod F carrying a weight G. When the roller is in the position shown in Fig. 1, it is automatically traversed to the right by the revolution of the rollers A, B, C until the projecting end of the rod F engages with a stop K on the frame, when the rod is moved longitudinally so as to displace the weight G and cause the roller to tilt in the opposite direction. The rod F now projects at the opposite end of the roller, which is traversed from right to left until the rod comes in contact with a stop K on the opposite side of the frame, when the reversal is effected as before.
