875. Marks, G. C., [Brunt, J. R., and Pitt, R. C.]. Jan. 13. Tyres, pneumatic.-Relates to tyres in which an emergency air tube is fitted between the ordinary air tube and the wheel rim. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the emergency air tube a has closed ends a<1> connected together by a rubber or like coupling d, which is pierced to allow the inflating-valve e of the ordinary air tube c to pass diametrically through. When it is desired to use the emergency air tube, the securing-nut e<1> of the valve e is unscrewed and the emergency air tube is inflated through its own valve f. In the modification shown in Figs. 4 and 6, a tube g, slightly larger in diameter than the inflating-valve of the emergency air tube, is secured to the air tube a either by flanges h or by moulding.
