366. Broomfield, H. Aug. 7. Tyre and like inflating-valves. -An inflating-valve 1 for pneumatic tyres, or for footballs, punch - balls, or like air-bladders, of the pinched-tube type, is provided with an oval flange 6, having a slit 7, and is surrounded by an india-rubber ring 8 to ensure a tight closure. The valve may be provided with a flange 2 for securing it in position, or it may be fitted in a hollow metal stem formed with a flat head and screwed end.
