Sawing.-A. guard for a circular saw is shown in Fig. 1, and consists of a plate A, thinner than the saw-gate cut by the saw C or bevelled at the edge B, and a pivoted piece I adjustable by the link J and screw K. The end D of the plate is pivoted to a bracket E below the bench F, either the end D or the bracket being slotted. The plate A is steadied by a horizontal bar M secured to a pillar L, and may fit into a groove in the bench or have a projection which passes through the saw-hole and is secured by a cross-pin.
