23,004. Taylor, J. Oct. 22. Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims. -Relates to a resilient tyre for the wheels of motor and other vehicles. One of the sides b of the trough-shaped metal felloe a is detachable, and forms part of a ring c, which may be secured by bolts e passing through alternate bayonet slots therein, the spokes i passing through the intermediate slots. An indiarubber tyre or tread g is secured in a troughshaped ring f, fitting in the trough of the felloe and being of a larger diameter than the bottom thereof. When no load is upon the wheel, the ring f is kept concentric with the felloe by buffers j, j<x> on the bolt e. The buffers are sufficiently elastic to permit of the eccentric movement of the ring in the felloe when the wheel is in motion, and circumferential motion of the ring in the felloe being prevented by the bolts e, which pass through it, and have heads outside it and nuts inside the felloe. Metal ferrules may be placed between the bolts and the buffersj.
