20,111. Lycett, E. Sept. 15. Pulleys and driving-drums.-Relates to means for increasing adhesion in belt or rope driving pulleys for engines, motors, and machinery. In a V or round grooved pulley, Figs. 2 and 3, blocks of non-slipping material C are inserted in dovetailed slots B either opposite one another or otherwise, and project slightly above the face of the pulley. A washer D of leather or other material is placed in the groove. Fig. 5 shows a pulley with the groove formed in fibrous or gripping material C held in position by flanges F, F<1>. Fig. 6 shows a pulley with a flat surface, having a rubber or fibrous ring forced into the rim, with blocks C projecting through apertures in the retaining-band.
