19,389. Boyd, H. M., Redmon, H., Renaker, J. W., and Berry, B. D. Oct. 30. Rail joints are made with a pair of plates 2, 3 shaped to embrace the foot and web of the rails. Lugs 13 on the base of one piece 3 pass through slots 7 in the other piece 2, and both parts are spiked to the sleepers through the holes 8, 14. Lugs 15 may be provided to enter holes in the rail web, and fish-bolts may be used to secure the parts together.
