15,209. Plewman, W. H., and Graham J. July 24. Chairs for railways are made in two symmetrical parts, each with a base b, jaw c, and tongue e, which extends under the base of the other part. The jaws are tightened on the rail, when the parts are in position, by driving the spikes through the holes h, i, which do not quite register. The same construction is used for guard rail chairs in which two bearing-surfaces for the two rails and an intermediate loose piece p are provided. A vertical wooden key and a wooden strip between the base b and tongue e may be applied.
