Abstract

Energy meters.-An induction motor meter, for a single alternating current, has an iron, aluminium, copper, German-silver, or other conductive disc c, moving through the air-gap of an electromagnet a, and between a horse-shoe electromagnet b and a stationary armature. The magnet b carries highlyinductive coils h connected between the mains the magnet a carries a main current coil d, and a co-operating coil g, which is connected in series with a high non-inductive resistance between the mains. Independent magnetic fields are thus produced, to drive the disc. Ordinary registering-gear is provided. The electromagnet a may be forked at one end.
