Abstract

23,854. Imray, O., [Siemens-Schuckert Werke Ges.]. Nov. 3. Energy meters.-In an alternating-current induction motor meter having a copper or aluminium disc c S revolving through the field of a shunt electromagnet d, the magnetic flux through this field is caused to lag 90‹ or more behind the applied electric pressure by providing two additional windings b, c connected together in parallel, and both in series with the main winding a on the core d. The additional windings may be wound with different numbers of turns, and connected to act both in the same direction as the main winding a, or both oppositely thereto ; or one additional winding may act oppositely to the other. A phaseshift of exactly 90‹ may be obtained by making the numbers of turns in the windings such as to produce a somewhat greater shift, and then inserting a non-inductive resistance in series with one of the additional windings or with the main winding.
