12,545. Allgemeine Elektricitõts- Ges. June 2, A.D. 1903, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Energy meters.-Relates to the field structure of an alternating-current meter of the induction type, such as is described in Specification No. 683, A.D. 1900. The limbs carrying the shunt coil or coils are magnetically connected to form a closed circuit and thus shunt some of the lines of force from the path across the rotating disc. Fig. 1 shows one arrangement. The core has three limbs ; upon one end limb is placed the series coil h, and on one or both of the other limbs is placed a shunt coil N, the latter limbs being connected by an iron piece a. Fig. 3 shows a more symmetrical arrangement, the core having four limbs. Upon the outer ones are two series coils h, h<1>, with shunt coils N, N between. The iron of the series field core need not be connected to the iron of the shunt field core.
