Bedsteads.-Relates to hospital bedsteads, and has for its object so to arrange the legs as to enable nurses or doctors to move about from bed to bed without kicking them. The bottom frame is made with curved corners a<2>, a<3>, and the legs B are set inwards, both towards the longitudinal centre of the bedstead and towards the head end ; the legs may be set diagonally as in Fig. 6. The foot end legs may be detachable, as in Fig. 4, and be connected by a bar b<3>; they have male dovetails b<4> engaging corresponding holes a<4> in the bottom frame. The end a' of the bottom frame may be curved in elevation, as well as in plan, to give a curved surface to the wire meshwork of the bottom. The wire meshwork may be connected to the end a<1> by springs or links of various lengths, or to a straight bar set inwards of the part a'.
