Abstract
24,470. Heilmann, O. Dec. 8. Cigarette-making machines.-Hollow mouthpiece sections a of paper &c., and tobacco fillings b, each of double the length required for one cigarette, are placed alternately in a channel in which travels a continuous paper strip which is folded and secured about the mouthpieces and tobacco so as to form a continuous cigarette rod. The rod is divided into separate cigarettes in the manner shown in Fig. 5, extreme accuracy in positioning the cuts being unnecessary.
