(AREA)
Abstract
19,243. Singer, G., and Williamson, F. H. Sept.25. Motor road vehicles. - Relates to the form of "f r e e-w h e e l" clutch described in Specification No. 1755, A.D. 1899, and consists of arrangements for rendering the clutch inoperative. The spring plungers D, sliding in radial openings in the collar C and engaging ratchet teeth on the chainwheel A, are, according to the present invention, formed with stems D<3> which project into a chamber J. A sliding cone L may be screwed into the collar C so as to force the plungers outwards and lock the chain-wheel to the hub. The cone L is formed with a milled flange L<2>, and, when not in use, is screwed on a boss M, as shown, or otherwise held out of action.
