Abstract
12,204. Morris, F. W. May 25. Manumotive vehicles; driving-mechanism.-Relates to an arrangement whereby the vibrations of a cycle having a spring or spring-supported frame may be utilized to assist in its propulsion. A lever F, connected at one end to the vehicle body, is formed with teeth F<1> which normally engage with teeth E<1> upon the outer ring E of a one-way clutch, which has its inner member B attached to the vehicle wheel by the bolts that hold the hub plates. The lever F is carried in a sleeve G which is formed with an arm carrying a ring J bolted to a second ring K, the two rings running loosely upon balls L inserted between them and the clutch member B, the balls being protected by side plates M. In order to allow for reversing the vehicle, the lever F is withdrawn from the ring E by the end H of a lever.
