Abstract

14,641. La Paz, C. G. de. July 15. Water levels, indicating. -Relates to electric alarms for indicating a rise of water in the compartments of a ship. In each compartment is placed a tube containing a device which automatically completes an alarm circuit when submerged. This device consists of two plates C<1>, C<2> of platinum embedded in blocks D of ebonite, which are tied together and grooved to admit water to the plates. The plates are in circuit with a battery, an alarm bell, and an indicator board. which is placed on deck near the bridge.
