Abstract
10,893. Schleuning, W. May 24. Invalid carriages. - Relates to a table to be fitted to an invalid's chair, bedstead, or Bath chair, or to a road or railway vehicle. The table top P is pivoted to the cross-piece of a bail of which the sides a are pivoted to the lower parts of clamps T, which can be fixed at any height on the bedstead &c. pillars. A stay H, also pivoted to the clamp T, works in a slot in the bar a, and may be fixed by a wing nut. The top P is pivoted at one edge or at its centre, and has worm-and-wheel, or set-screw adjustments. When not in use, the table is turned up and forms part of the head end of the bed &c. Quadrant stays may be used to hold the arms a in place, and the arms a and stays may be pivoted to a bracket on the wall instead of being clamped to the bedstead &c.
