5702. Owens, W. T. March 16. Closets flushed with waste water.-The basin C is made with a flange D, to prevent splashing, and an outlet trapped passage H in the side. This outlet is again trapped at P. The waste water collects in the basin until the seal in the trap P is blown out, when the flush is started. An overhanging semicircular ledge K directs the overflow down the centre of H, and thus assists in the starting action.
