Abstract
9661. Adams, M. J. April 25. Flushing closets.-An arrangement of flushing- apparatus is provided to effect an automatic flushing in case the hand operation is omitted. If the bell G, Fig. 1, is not raised by hand, the water from the drip-tap E accumulates and finally forces the seal of the siphon M, causing a flush. In the case of a series of closets, Fig. 2, a tank M', which may be fed from a supply tank C, is provided for each closet. If this is left undischarged the siphon M is put into action as above described, flushing the basin directly. According to the Provisional Specification, the cistern C is placed at the same level as the cisterns M'.
