26,970. Vßngel, G. Dec. 21. Folding-boxes of cardboard or the like material are formed from blanks cut and scored as shown in Fig.1 or Fig. 3. In Fig. 1, the flap f forms the bottom, the flap f the top, the part g the front, the middle part the back, and the flaps b, b<1> the sides of the box. In forming the box, the strengthening- flaps d, d' and c, c<1> are turned inside the flaps f and f<1> respectively, the flap h, which is stiff, is inserted under the front g, and the parts are secured by means of the tongues l on the flaps e, e<1>, which are inserted in the slits k, k<1> of the front g, the fastening being then nailed or sealed. The blank shown in Fig. 3 is adapted to form a double box. The tongues a, a<1> engage in the slits c, c', and the tongues b, b<1> in the slits c<2>, c<3>, and both the boxes thus formed are turned face to face and secured together in any suitable manner.
