The head b<1> of the valve stem b receives a rubber ring b<3>, on which the head c<1> o f t h e deflation stem c normally rests in the airtight contact. The head of the valve is enclosed in an indiarubber cap a, which has been turned inside out so as to leave the inner surface in compression. The cap has slits a<1> for the passage of the air, and its edges are secured by nuts n. The valve cap d has an extension d<1> which may be used to push in the deflation stem c, or other means may be employed.
