Abstract
24,392. Sloper, T., and Gray, C. H. Nov. 18. Tyres, pneumatic.-The stem A of the inflating- valve, shown in Fig. 1, has an annular groove A<1> near its outer end to receive a clip B' which is connected to a spring support B<2> carrying the dust cap B. The valve stem is secured to the air tube E by the head A<2> and screw nut A<3>, and intermediate to the air tube and the screw nut is placed a resilient plate C, shown in plan in Fig. 3. The plate has a central hole C<1> and bent end pieces c<2>. According to the Provisional Specification, the valve consists of a rubber ring seated on a screwed hollow plug.
