10,273. Philip, P. T. April 24. Tyres, pneumatic, inflating-valves for. The valve C and its seating, Fig. 4, are covered with rubber or the like, and the valve is supported on a spindle d, to the outer end of which is screwed a tightening-nut f. A cap D screwed against a rubber seating by a nut E assures airtightness. In a modification, the nut f has holes to allow the passage of air. In the form shown in Fig. 8, the valve C is separate from the spindle d, and the nut f is supported so as to screw down the valve p after inflation. Slight modifications of the form shown in Fig. 8 are described, and also a larger form of valve suitable for carriages.
