13,644. Raleigh, C. June 18. Stereoscopes. - Relates to the production of kinetoscopic or stationary pictures in stereoscopic relief. The moving body is photographed in the ordinary way with a single camera, and duplicate (identical) films X, Y are produced which are run rapidly through a stereoscope. The same pictures are, however, not seen together but, as indicated, 1 and 3, 2 and 4, and so on, are before the eyes at the same time. Other similar arrangements may be employed, and, by moving the film horizontally, one film only need be employed. Stationary pictures are produced by selecting two of the series near to one another.
