Abstract

2142. Richard, J. Jan. 30. Lenses ; stereoscopes. - Relates to the employment for stereoscopic cameras of tetrahedra presenting two mutually perpendicular faces and two other faces inclined at an angle of 45 degrees to the preceding unes for rectifying the images both laterally and vertically. The tetrahedra are mounted in cases a, Fig. 9, which slide in grooves b of the camera front. They are disposed so that one of the mutually perpendicular faces f, Fig. 6, lies adjacent to the objective c, while the inclined faces g, h, Fig. 7, reflect the images while simultaneously reversing them both vertically and laterally. The objectives then re-invert 'the images. This arrangement is specially applicable for getting positive and colour transparencies directly, and for use with apparatus such as is described in Specification No. 21,430, A.D. 1899. With this arrangement the camera must be held in a direction perpendicular to the direction of photography, the other perpendicular face e facing the object. To avoid this and to photograph directly, an additional mirror or a totally reflecting prism may be used opposite the entrance face e. This will result in a lateral inversion only, and the negative obtained must then be printed with the film surface away from the print paper.
