The part b has slightly tapered sides, and the part a inside the rim is of any shape which allows lateral expansion, the two side ribs c being formed to take under the edges e. A wide tread b<1> may be provided. The rim may be fixed directly on to a wooden rim or felloe, as shown in Fig. 3, or it may have a flange f provided with lateral extensions f<1> in which the nipples g of the spokes are secured, as shown in Fig. 1. The flange f may be dispensed with.
