Abstract

9638. Richards, J. W., and Roepper, C. W. April 26. Hydrogen.-Relates to obtaining insoluble metallic sulphides electrolytically. Consists in employing an auode of or containing the metal or metals of which the sulphide is desired, and an electrolyte of a solution of hyposulphite of soda or other convenient hyposulphite. In the example given, the anode is of cadmium, and the cathode of carbon or cadmium. Hydrogen is liberated at the anode.
