6343. Mabey, F. O. March 15 Stoppers; corks, retaining.-The cork or stopper C is held in position by one or more spring fingers B, which are affixed by the spring clip A to the neck of the bottle &c. In a modification, the stopper is held by the edges of the fingers. The fingers may also be hinged to the clip, or mounted to slide in guides therein, so that the fingers can be released from the stopper without removing the clip. Instead of the fingers, the clip may be provided with a curved flange arranged to overlap the mouth of the bottle and the stopper, or an annular piece adapted to bear on thetop of the stopper may be provided with vertical clips which pass over and grip the neck of the bottle.
