2034. St³ckgold, S. Jan. 25. Milling.-Machines for cutting the teeth of wheels and the like are provided with an arrangement for cutting angle teeth, as in Fig. 3. The driving-shaft e, by which the cutter a is rotated and its slide s' traversed, is also connected to the disc p' upon which the wheel g<1> to be cut is secured so as to impart to it a small rotary movement, first in one direction and then in the other. For this purpose motion is transmitted by a train of gearing to a pinion t in gear with a pin rack u mounted upop a series of crank discs v which are caused to move simultaneously by a rack w to engaging their toothed peripheries. The discs are pivoted upon another rack y, which again is connected by a train of gearing to the disc p<1>. The parts are arranged so that the reversal of the motion of the racks takes place when the cutter is opposite the centre of the wheel.
