Abstract
189,750. Vigneron, Dahl, et Cie. Nov. 26, 1921, [Convention date]. Nets; trawling-gear.-In a trawl net with extending wings bounded by a head rope 11 and a foot rope 14, connected to towing lines 21, extending to the end of the net, the upper part of the net extends beyond the foot rope and is dimensioned so that while the lower part is tensioned, it may distend under the action of floats or the like applied to the head rope. The net decreases in height and breadth from front to rear and is provided with vertical bands 22, to prevent the fish from escaping. The foot rope is weighted and may be protected by rollers or the like. The upper part of the net may be made of lighter cord than the lower part. In plan the head and foot ropes are superposed, and are both of trapezoidal form. Detachable floats may be fitted to the upper part of the net. The slats 8 have metal shoes on the lower end and are each connected to the towing rope by two cables. These slats are described and claimed in Specification- 211,165.
