[Right of Patent relinquished.] Mounting a n d securing cranks and chain-w h e e l s on shafts.-Cranks and chain-wheels are constructed so that they may be readily connected or disconnected to alter the gear of the machine or for any other purpose. The crank A is formed with a disc B which is provided with a flange C for fitting within the boss G of the chainwheel. The flange is split on opposite sides at D, D<1> and it is expanded, to fix it within the chain -wheel boss, by means of wedgeshaped nuts J, J<1>. and set-screws I, I<1> passed through holes in the boss G. Lateral movement is prevented by a shoulder E on the disc B.
