6087. Kottusch, E. March 12. Mounting and securing pulleys and toothed wheels on shafts; pulleys and driving -drums; toothed wheels; shaft couplings.- The coupling sleeve, adjustable ring, or hub of a pulley for belt, rope, or toothed gearing, is formed in two parts a, b which fit together with a wedging action. The part a has a longitudinal slot f to allow a slight springing action so as to form three champing-portions fitting the shaft. The parts are held together by screws e or by bolts, the holes in the part a being slightly larger than the screws &c. In the case of pulleys or driving-wheels, no spokes are divided, only whole spokes are attached to the part a, the rim being divided along a diameter so that the free ends rest against spokes attached to the part b. In one form, perforated lugs on the free ends of the rims engage with pins placed near the ends of the corresponding spokes attached to the part b.
