Abstract
15,237. Siemens Bros. & Co., [Siemens & Halske]. June 25. Electric railways and tramways on the conduit system. Relates to switches for the rails and conductors. Conductors; permanent way.-The point C of the rail A is pivoted at G, and the point D of the conductor B is pivoted at F, so that it has a greater angular throw as the two are connected so as to move simultaneously by the insulating-piece E. The end of the conductor point is insulated by the part H, and short lengths B' of the conductors alongside the part H are also insulated, the lengths of the portions B' being greater than of the part H so that any sparking may occur at H rather than at D. The electric connections g, k, h, i,f or a cross-over road, as shown in Fig. 3, cause a change of polarity as the car passes over the points.
