Abstract
1194. Simon, H. Jan. 16. Coking.-Relates to coke ovens of the kind described in Specification No. 554, A.D.1883. The waste gases pass from the ovens A into flues C leading to the chimney D, and air for combustion of the gases in the oven flues is heatedduring its passage along metal tubes G. In a modified form, the waste gases may pass along a brickwork flue occupying the position of the first half of the tube G shown in Fig. 1, and leading into a metal pipe ; in this case, the air circulates through the spaces surrounding the flue and pipe.
