Abstract

Envelopes.-A reply envelope, adapted to be transmitted many times between two addresses written upon its sides, is of the form shown in blank in Fig. 5, consisting of sides a, b extended to form sealing flaps c, d, each provided with one or more tabs e, f, which are left free for detaching the flap sealed by independent sealing means. The ends of the envelope are closed by small flaps i which may have gussets h. As shown in Fig. 4, one of the flaps c is tucked within the envelope during transmission, and the flap d is folded over to cover the sender's address written upon the side a, thus exposing the receiver's address upon the side b. A strip of fabric g, Fig. 1, is secured by adhesive along the lower edge of the flap d, leaving the tab f free. The sealing strip is preferably longer than the edge of the flap. For the return, the flap d is tucked within the envelope and the flap c is used for sealing. A number of independent seals, or sealingwax, may be employed to seal the flaps, the sealing means being of a material which can be readily removed.
