Motor-cycles; motors, mounting.-A bicycle or other small vehicle is propelled by a motor 16, Fig. 5, whose driving member consists of a reel 3a, Fig. 2, carrying rollers 4 which engage the wheel tyre 5. The rollers may be arranged conically, Fig. 3, and may be adjustable laterally to vary the speed ratio. The driving member may consist of two or more reels, Fig. 4, of different diameter, the motor being movable so that any one may engage the tyre. The motor 16 is pivoted at 18 to auxiliary forks 19, and the fuel tank 36 may be carried by the upper bracket 20. The motor is moved to disconnect the gearing by means of a lever 27, which then engages a notch 28. When the gear is engaged, the lever 27 and an arm 30, Fig. 7, pivoted thereto, grip the quadrant 29 so as to clamp out vibrations, fibre or other frictional material 32 'being provided.
