Siphon bottles. - In order to facilitate the gradual opening of the valve of a siphon bottle so as to prevent rush of liquid, a spring abutment is provided, with which the lever comes in contact as the valve is about to open. The abutment may be formed of a bent strip b of spring steel having a saddle-shaped end to receive the lever x and carried by a spring clip a surrounding the neck of the bottle. The clip a may be provided with a fixed or pivoted perforated luy c which is passed over the spout.
